Winter Coat Drive
No One Should Go Cold
Seeing the success Frankie had with the Angel Tree Adoption in 2016, he decided to venture out and create a coat drive to expand his outreach mission. Starting in 2017, he was able to raise $1,500 via fundraising to purchase 100 new coats and collected additional 125 new coats. He was able to donate a total of 225 brand new costs for children and adults to several local charities who had an immediate need to help keep Louisville warm.
In 2018, once Frankie’s Family had been established, they set out to grow the coat drive as the need had become even greater. We were able to exceed our 2017 results and raise over $2,000 in donations to purchase 150 new coats! An additional 125 new coats were donated bringing the total collected for 2018 to 275! Again, as in years past, the coats were distributed to several local charities in the community who were able to serve an immediate need for families and help provide warmth.
Our 2021 goal is to collect 200 new coats to donate to local organizations who have a need for coats those they serve in our community.
Once again – we couldn’t do this without your support. There are so many people who struggle to stay warm during winter because they simply don’t have a good coat. Something most of us take for granted. Every coat we collect ensures that’s one less person to go without a warm coat this winter season.
Stay tuned for further information about drop off locations for this year for our coat drive.
