Our story began in 2016 where our founder Frankie Hilbert wanted to give back through the Angel Tree Adoption Program with the Salvation Army. He began working with friends and family to raise money and adopt as many kids as they could. The goal, to raise $1,500 in the effort to adopt 15 angels. However in just 10 short days he ended up raising $4,500 and adopted 45 angels.
That experience was life changing and it set our founder Frankie on a mission which led to learning more about the Angel Tree program, planning for the next year by building a fundraising campaign and scheduling shopping trips with a 2017 goal of $15,000 and 150 angels.
Once again the support from the community was outstanding. With more time to plan and focus on executing the goal, Frankie was able to secure a donor to match his fundraising efforts. In 2017 Frankie, with the help of close friends and family, was able to raise $17,500 with a matched donation of $15,000, which enabled him to adopt 325 angels!
Thankfully, many of those same donors & friends stepped up in a big way to help him complete all of the shopping and sorting necessary to allow our friends at the Salvation Army to successfully deliver these gifts in time for the Christmas holiday.
Once again being overwhelmed by the generosity of those around him not only to donate, but give their time to assist in this cause, lead to the founding of Frankie’s Family and became a registered 501(c)3 in 2018.
Due to the continued success of the Annual Angel Tree Drive, Frankie wanted to continue to grow Frankie’s Family efforts in the community. He has since created projects such as feeding the homeless, coat drive, can food drives and many other volunteer opportunities.
2023 will be our 8th Annual Angel Tree Drive to help provide Christmas for those in need and we are hoping it will be another record breaking year.
