Our story began in 2016 when our founder, Frankie Hilbert, wanted to give back through the Angel Tree with the Salvation Army. He started working with friends and family to raise money and adopt as many kids as they could. The goal was to raise $1,500, which would allow him to adopt 15 angels. However, in just ten short days, he exceeded that goal and raised $4,500, which allowed him to adopt 45 angels.
That experience was life-changing, and it set our founder, Frankie, on a journey that led him to learn more about the Angel Tree program and would take his passion for helping others in need to places he never could have imagined. He spent the next year creating a plan, and seeing the results he had achieved in such a short time last year, he set a big goal to raise $15,000 to adopt 150 angels.
He dreamed big and was determined to meet that goal, and in true Frankie fashion, he did just that with the help of the community. Once again, the community’s support was terrific. With more time to plan and focus on reaching the goal, Frankie secured a donor to match his fundraising efforts. In 2017, with the help of close friends and family, Frankie raised $17,500 with a matched donation of $15,000, enabling him to adopt a total of 325 angels! Thankfully, many of those same donors and friends stepped up to help him complete the shopping and sorting. This enormous undertaking challenged Frankie and those who volunteered, but they pulled it off in time with hard work, teamwork, and patience. Once again, overwhelmed by the generosity of those around him, many of who donated and generously gave their time to assist him with shopping and sorting all the gifts for each Angel, he realized he had created something extraordinary.
With the support of a few close friends, Frankie decided he needed to create a 501(c)(3) to continue his work with The Salvation Army Angel Tree.
This led to the creation of Frankie’s Family in 2018.
Frankie’s Family’s mission is to be a loving helping hand to those in need in our local community.
Each year, not surprisingly to those who know Frankie and his passion for helping others, he has continued to grow The Angel Tree Adoption program, and the community keeps supporting his hard work every year. But it is only possible with those who give their money, time, or services. They truly put the Family in Frankie’s Family, and Frankie couldn’t do it without all of them.
2024 will be our 9th Annual Angel Tree Adoption, and we’ve set a big goal to raise $75,000 to adopt 700 Angels. In our first 8 years, we have raised nearly $375,000, adopted over 3,650 Angels, and donated almost $20,000 in additional clothes and toys for the forgotten Angels who did not get adopted.
Due to the continued success of the Annual Angel Tree Drive, Frankie wanted to expand Frankie’s Family’s efforts in the community. He has since created additional projects such as feeding the homeless, annual coat drives, canned food drives, back-to-school supply drives, and more.
Frankie will be the first to tell you that he has been blessed beyond measure and is so grateful to everyone who has become a part of Frankie’s Family and helped positively impact our community.
He is most proud that Frankie’s Family is still an all-volunteer-based 501(c)(3), including himself, which allows 98% of every dollar raised to go right back into the community to those who need that loving helping hand, which is our mission.
We hope you will join us and donate today to help us reach our goal of $75,000 this year.
